Houstonwehaveaproblem… don’t we?

In this period, we are facing the emergency of COVID-19, so we are all forced to stay at home. As a consequence, all the schools are obviously closed, so all teachers and students are forced to use the distance learning. During these days it’s useful to attend an online class with teachers and classmates, because it’s the only way to not waste time. In addition, it’s the only way to meet each other, even if it is via screen.
I must confess that I don’t like the distance learning for the following reasons: it may happen that your connection drops during the lessons; the interaction between teachers and students in the virtual classroom is not the same as the one we used to have in the “real classroom” and it is very hard to keep the attention in front of a screen for so many hours.
Even if the distance learning is a valid (and the only) alternative to the traditional method, I prefer the latter because it allows me to meet with my classmates and spend my time with them before, during and after the lessons in the school; moreover, it makes it easier to interact with the teachers, asking questions and giving personal experience or opinion during the lessons.
As it may seem, I miss my classmates a lot but I also miss all the teachers, Lula and Franco.
With our great teachers our education is obviously still safe, since they are doing their best to help us during this difficult period, more than ordinary teachers would do. I’m proud of my school and of my teachers.
A way to improve the distance learning may be the one of having a helping desk platform dedicated to all the schools that are being forced to use this method. A helping desk opened to anyone who needs it, in order to cope with the difficulties of connection.
I hope that we will be soon out of this emergency period to meet again in the school and go back to the “old” life, even if I know that nothing will be the same after Covid-19.
